What is nauakpower?

Picture
We are a New Social Entreprise focused on broadening the base of people participating in the property and the benefits of economic growth gains in El Salvador’s renewable energy sector.

Where are we based?

Picture
We work simultaneously out of Boston, Massachusetts, in the US. And out of El Salvador, in Central America –where we develop and operate solar energy power plants.

nauak: the vision behind this word

What sets NauaPower apart from the rest of developers and plant operators in the market
is our identity, vision and mission.
Picture
NAUAK means “to gather or reunite, side by side” in Náhuatl –the most broadly spoken indigenous language across Mesoamerica; and serves as a contrast to the word DIASPORA which means “dispersion or separation.”
Our Vision is to exemplify a better way of organizing an entrepreneurial connection between migration and development within Mesoamerica and North America –the world’s largest migration corridor.
Our Mission is to contribute to a more effective use of the Salvadoran diaspora’s (and their allies) financial resources, talent and influence, as joined efforts towards larger scale and more impactful productive and social investments.

nauakpower's essential features

NauaPower is also a different kind of enterprise due to its ownership structure and business model.
Picture
  • Our investors belong to the Salvadoran diaspora –as well as their partners and allies (institutions or individuals) inside and out of El Salvador.
  • We channel their investments towards the Salvadoran growing renewable energy generation sector –specifically solar.
  • Aside from adequately rewarding our investors, a significant percentage of NauakPower’s profits from energy sales will be invested through Nauak Foundation (currently in formation) into Social Initiatives –related to human capital development (primarily education) of underserved youth, as well as community development in their territories.
